The small route near Varenholz Castle leads from our Kalletal camping park, past the Stemmer See lake, along the southern side of the Weser. The highlight of the tour is the Weser ferry Varenholz-Veltheim, which makes it possible to cross the Weser with the historic high-wire ferry on weekends and public holidays. There is room for up to ten people on the ferry. Ferry times from April to October: Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. On the other side of the Weser, the cycle tour continues in the flat countryside towards Veltheim. Here you will notice the free-standing Veltheim windmill from 1903, whose stone mill tower stands out against the surrounding fields and flowering meadows in summer.
