We offer you perfect wellness and relaxation for your nature-friendly camping holidays. In summer, parents can relax on the 500-meter-long sandy beach, while the children go swimming in the 25 hectare bathing lake or travel to the pirate island for adventure. Three great playgrounds with jumping pillow and mud area, a football field, two gaming rooms and children‘s entertainment during the summer holidays, let many children dream of the next holiday at our campsite after their stay. If you book in time, you get a pitch overlooking the lake. All sports lovers can enjoy the water ski facility , which is also located nearby. The varied landscape is ideal for extensive hikes and bike tours. Visit attractions in the area on your own, such as the monastery Möllenbeck, the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument or the Dinopark Münchehagen. If you do not have your own caravan or want to go spontaneously without a lot of luggage, our rental accommodations offer a comfortable alternative. Comfortable electric travel: Charge your electric car at our 11 kW e-charging stations directly on site and enjoy a vacation that combines comfort and closeness to nature. After starting at the campsite, you will circle the 8 hectare large castle lake with the Kalletal water ski facility. The following straight track between Varenholz and Erder is surrounded by wonderful woods. Once you arrive at Erder, you are led directly to the distillery in the old ferry house at the Weser river. Built as ferry house in 1925, it was converted into an guesthouse 40 years later. Since 2016 the former restaurant has been a distillery for fine fruit brandies and liqueurs. Rent one of the paddleboats or test your balance on a standup paddleboard. Little pirates can discover the Adventure Island together by raft and go on a treasure hunt. There is a separate lake next to the campsite for water skiing and wakeboarding as well. You will enjoy both whether you are a beginner or an expert. During the bathing season from the 15th of May until the 15th of September you can jump from the iceberg and test the trampoline. If the weather is cold or bad, you can visit thermal and fun baths in Herford, Bad Oeynhausen or Stadthagen. Our solid wood Finnish sauna is made of original Kelo pine. If the classic Finnish sauna is too hot or too dry for you, then the low temperature sauna is the ideal alternative. The small route near Varenholz Castle leads from our Kalletal camping park, past the Stemmer See lake, along the southern side of the Weser. The highlight of the tour is the Weser ferry Varenholz-Veltheim, which makes it possible to cross the Weser with the historic high-wire ferry on weekends and public holidays. There is room for up to ten people on the ferry. Ferry times from April to October: Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. On the other side of the Weser, the cycle tour continues in the flat countryside towards Veltheim. Here you will notice the free-standing Veltheim windmill from 1903, whose stone mill tower stands out against the surrounding fields and flowering meadows in summer.
