Starting at the Campingpark Kalletal, you cycle eastwards on this beautiful tour, past the "Ostenuther Kiesteiche", and cross the North Rhine-Westphalian state border towards Lower Saxony. The easy, short route takes you on a section of the Weser Cycle Path along the Doktorsee lake into the city of Rinteln. The historic old town with its market square in the centre is characterised by numerous half-timbered houses in the Weser Renaissance style. Here you can stroll around to your heart's content, go out to eat and enjoy the old town flair. We also have a small restaurant tip for you: the Restaurant Bodega, directly in the city centre. After starting at the campsite, you will circle the 8 hectare large castle lake with the Kalletal water ski facility. The following straight track between Varenholz and Erder is surrounded by wonderful woods. Once you arrive at Erder, you are led directly to the distillery in the old ferry house at the Weser river. Built as ferry house in 1925, it was converted into an guesthouse 40 years later. Since 2016 the former restaurant has been a distillery for fine fruit brandies and liqueurs. Elfenborn Our recommendation for forest lovers! Along the edge of the forest you can enjoy the view over Langenholzhausen and far into the Lipperland. Hiking benches invite you to take short breaks. The shady path winds slightly uphill through the beautiful mixed forest. A soft splashing accompanies you in many places along the way. It was not the elves who gave the area its name, but eleven springs that run through the ground in the Langenholzhausen forest. The phrase "born" in Elfenborn means spring. At the end of the route you will pass an impressive boundary stone from 1669 with the emblem of the House of Hessen-Kassel, the jumping lion with the Schaumburg nettle leaf, and the rose of County Lippe. For active tourists we recommend our 800 meter long 5 mast water ski facility near the campsite. There’s a separate lake for water skiing and wakeboarding. We also distribute water sports equipment for all your needs. For enjoyment or rest you can use the sunbathing areas on the neighboring meadow or make yourself comfortable on the view terrace of the bistro. Rent one of the paddleboats or test your balance on a standup paddleboard. Little pirates can discover the Adventure Island together by raft and go on a treasure hunt. There is a separate lake next to the campsite for water skiing and wakeboarding as well. You will enjoy both whether you are a beginner or an expert. During the bathing season from the 15th of May until the 15th of September you can jump from the iceberg and test the trampoline. If the weather is cold or bad, you can visit thermal and fun baths in Herford, Bad Oeynhausen or Stadthagen.
